Hope For Families is a support group at for women who have
been in or are currently in abusive relationships. Areas of discussion include:

* Dealing with post traumatic stress from abuse

ARMS is a Christian independent ministry that offers services regardless of race, ethnicity, or faith. It is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization and has existed since 1999. The services that ARMS offers include:
Her Journey - a 15-week series of free classes that are designed to help women heal from all types of domestic abuse, including emotional, sexual, spiritual, financial, animal, property, and physical assault. The classes meet once a week; women may begin at any time. Her Journey classes are based on Psalm 23; they assure women of their worth and of God's love for them. Topics include: 1) recognizing abuse and its impact, 2) perfectionism, 3) depression, 4) boundaries, 5) anger, 6) understanding God's love for each person, 7) choices, 8) renewing our minds, and 9) what love should look like. Her Journey classes are in the following states and counties:

ManKind is a 48-week program for men who struggle with anger and/or abusive and controlling behaviors. The program challenges a man's underlying beliefs behind the behaviors. There are fees for this program. ARMS serves both voluntary clients and men who have been mandated by the court to attend a domestic abuse intervention program. In a respectful and confidential group environment, men will learn to understand abusive and controlling behaviors, take responsibility for how their actions have affected their family, and learn to love others in very practical ways, as God has called us to. ManKind is available in Oregon, in Douglas, Multnomah, and Washington Counties, with men from other counties welcome.
Virtue is a 36 week program for women who have experienced abuse, but who have also used abusive and/or controlling behaviors. Classes focus on learning about domestic abuse, healing from past abuse, stopping all forms of abusive behaviors, gaining new tools for conflict resolution and learning new boundary setting skills. There are fees for the Virtue program; it is available in Oregon in Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington Counties.
Family Impact is a 12-week program for parents or guardians of children who have been exposed to domestic abuse. It is designed to help moms and dads to: 1) understand their own parenting style and how it is either hindering or helping their children overcome the effects of domestic abuse, 2) learn new, healthy ways of parenting, 3) help their children heal from what they've experienced, and 4) work with their children to create a non-abusive environment where they can thrive. There is a fee for the Family Impact program; it is available in Oregon, in Washington County, but parents from other counties are welcome.
Foundations is a free 10-week program for young women, focusing on 1) recognizing healthy and unhealthy relationships, and 2) learning to set boundaries that show your value and keep you safe. Foundations is available in the following Oregon cities: Albany, Hillsboro, and Molalla. ARMS is currently developing a partner program for young men.
